How Much Does Cybersecurity Marketing Cost?
Content Visit recently conducted a review of cybersecurity marketing vendors. These include agencies, consultants, and freelance cybersecurity writers, and content creators.
We are not including the cost of hiring an internal team or paid ad spend.
So, how much does cybersecurity marketing cost?
The answer varies based on the type of provider, the level of expertise, and the scope of work.
Here’s a look at different pricing structures across agencies, consultants, and freelancers.
1. Specialist Cybersecurity Content Agencies
That’s us.
These are smaller agencies that specialize in cybersecurity marketing and offer highly targeted content for compliance, technical deep dives, and thought leadership.
We could find 4 other companies with similar offers to ours.
Retainers start at $5,500 – $10,000/month for ongoing cybersecurity content like whitepapers, reports, blog, solution briefs and more.
Most agencies offer custom pricing based on whatever the scope is.
Best for: Cybersecurity startups that want to position their solutions in a competitive market and get organic traffic. It is also a great solution for small marketing teams focused on something else, e.g., events and field marketing.
Content Visit offers a specialized cybersecurity content service at a 20% to 40% lower price than traditional agencies.

2. Full-Service Marketing Agencies
Agencies that offer full-service marketing, e.g., from strategic planning, execution, SEO, and social media management to lead generation and ad management.
A lot of agencies do this. However, they range from somewhat expensive to very expensive.
Most larger B2B marketing agencies will have cybersecurity industry clients.
Based on the 20 different agencies we looked at, we can bucket their pricing options into two tiers.
Mid-tier agencies that also do cybersecurity marketing: $7,500 – $15,000/month for strategic content planning, social media, newsletters, and ICP-targeted long-form content.
Large agencies that typically work with enterprise-level clients: $15,000+ per month or project-based pricing starting at $125,000 over 6 months for comprehensive demand generation, PR, and full-service content operations.
Best for: Companies with deep pockets, like well-funded startups, mid-sized cybersecurity companies, and enterprises looking for a total marketing team replacement/aid.
3. Freelancer Writers & Independent Consultants
Freelance cybersecurity content writers/SEO specialists/video producers and others make sense for in-house marketing teams that need extra support and know exactly where they need it.
Organizations typically hire freelancers when they already have a strategy and processes in place that the freelancer can be “plugged into.”
Based on 20 different freelance cybersecurity marketing providers we surveyed, the most common pricing we saw was:
Hourly Rates: $100 – $150/hour for content writing, SME interviews, and strategy.
Blog Posts & Articles: $300 – $600 per post, depending on complexity and research requirements.
Retainers: $2,000 – $5,000/month for ongoing content support, social media, and editorial newsletters.
We also came across freelancers based in low-income countries offering extremely low rates, though there can be a delta in output quality.
We previously posted on LinkedIn about how much a cybersecurity content writer costs.
Best for: Lean marketing teams or cybersecurity startups that need specialized content without a long-term agency commitment.
4. Demand Generation & Lead Generation Firms
Cybersecurity lead generation pricing is a lot more complex than other services.
For this article, we looked at vendors that do cost-per-lead pricing, webinar sponsorships, and virtual roundtables/summits. These are all popular lead methods in 2025.
Cost-Per-Lead Models: Pricing varies per lead depending on the audience, starting at $50–$250 per qualified lead.
Webinar Sponsorships: $12,500 – $20,000 for turnkey webinars with guaranteed leads.
Virtual Summits & Roundtables: $16,500 – $25,000+ for multi-vendor events with lead guarantees.
Best for: Cybersecurity vendors focused on pipeline acceleration and direct lead generation rather than brand awareness alone.
5. Public Relations & Analyst Relations Firms
For brand awareness and media presence, PR and analyst relations firms dominate the space.
They do things like journalist outreach, analyst briefings, and thought leadership. That said, we’ve seen some very silly PR spends (sponsorships with dubious returns), so be careful here.
However, we can recommend a good digital PR agency if needed.
These are the most accurate pricing buckets we could find.
Monthly Retainers: $7,500 – $15,000/month for ongoing media relations, thought leadership, and PR strategy.
Best for: Cybersecurity vendors looking to win media placements and sponsorships.
Key Takeaways from Looking At >90 Different Cybersecurity Marketing Agency Pricing Models
So, here’s the takeaway:
Cybersecurity content agencies offer deep industry expertise at a fraction of traditional marketing costs. Pair with a small internal team and ppc for a full stack marketing effort.
Full-service agencies bundle everything but come at a premium.
Freelancers provide flexibility but require an existing marketing strategy.
Lead gen firms are all about pipeline acceleration.
PR firms are best for brand awareness and media presence.
The less clear you are on your company's marketing goals, the more likely you are to benefit from working with an agency.
For example, while a freelancer could write you a blog post or a thought-leadership piece for $300, an agency could charge you ~$3,000 for similar output but also give you strategic advice on how to make the most of it.
At Content Visit, we offer a highly focused content marketing service for cybersecurity companies.
